Muscle endurance means the ability of a muscle or group of muscles to apply force to overcome an opposition many times. This test is suitable when the body is in a specific position. Mainly the athletes have theses tests done to avoid injuries. Endurance test assesses on the times of repetitions which takes place during a trial.

McGill Core Endurance Test

It is kept in mind while performing this test that no muscular imbalance takes place. The pain can even cause back pain to the person. However, if the person suffers any pain, the trial is immediately stopped to avoid injury.

Trunk Flexor Test (TFT)

This test is used to evaluate the endurance of rectus abdominals. Both hips, as well as knees, have to be curved in 90 degrees. The arms have to be folded in a cross way resting upon the chest. By pulling the jig 10cm away and the person being at the same position the test starts. If any part of the person touches the jig, the person has failed the test. If the person could hold up the place, the time has to be recorded.

Trunk Extensor Test (Tet)

This test is used to evaluate spinal and the multifidus. Moreover, the extensors which are present at the back are tested with the upper body beamed out over the end of the test bench.

If the upper part of the body drops below the horizontal position, then the person has failed the test.

Lateral Musculature Test(Lmt)

The lateral musculature tests (LMT) are used to evaluate the sloping crossways abdominals and also quadratus lower back. In this test, the person has to lay down in a side bridge position. This is done individually for both left and right side. The legs are kept straight. For this, the person has to rest his body on only one elbow. The other hand has to be placed on the opposite side shoulder. Also, if the person loses the straight posture, he is failed to the test. If the person can hold himself for a minimum of five minutes, then he passes the test.

Plank Hold

This test is conducted to evaluate core muscular endurance. For this test, the person has to lay on a flat, stable surface facing downwards. In the next step, the person also has to keep their forearms on the floor. The elbows have to be directly beneath the shoulder girdle. Now, the person has to use their arms to float in the Plank position. The time has to note when the person starts this position and stop when is not able to continue more.

Static Squat Test

This test’s main objective is to evaluate lower body muscular endurance. The person has to stand on both feet. Moreover, the back of the person has to rest on a wall. The hips and knees have to be in a 90° position. Then the person is instructed to lift his one foot 5 cm above the ground till they can. This is done for both foot and tine is recorded.

Maximal Push Test

This test is conducted to evaluate upper body muscular endurance. The person has to lie on a mat with fully extended arms touching the floor. In the next step, the person has to lower the body until the elbows have reached a correct 90 degree. Then again have to extend the arms fully. Still, lower the body until elbows achieve 90 degrees without any rest. At last, the push-ups are counted.
